Norilsk Nickel ranked top 5 among Russia’s largest exporting companies
Expert, a magazine, recently published its annual ranking of Russia’s largest exporters for 2017, listing Norilsk Nickel as number five. The commentary on the ranking notes that in 2017 the company’s [export] growth increased more than twofold, bringing it to up four places to number five.
“This achievement is due to more than precious metals’ market performance. In 2017 Nornickel finalized a number of key projects that had been launched in 2013 – 2014, including reaching design capacity output at the upgraded Talnakh enrichment facility, a capacity increase at the Nadezhdinsky metal plant, a production rise at the MMC Kola refinery, and the Bystrinsky Mining and Processing Plant coming on stream. This allowed Nornickel to increase production of all key metals using its own feedstock”, - says the article.The top positions in the ranking are held by Rosneft, Gazprom, and LUKOIL. Rusal went down to number 7 (from number 5 in 2016), while Evraz has gone up one spot to 14 (from 13 in 2016).
