This report, published annually by the National Council on Corporate Governance, discusses implementation of the new Corporate Code recommendations by Russia’s leading banks and companies.

The report presents a thorough analysis of the current and future developments in domestic corporate governance legislation. Experience of other countries is discussed in chapters about the participation of boards of directors in crisis management and about corporate governance practices in Japan and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

The first edition of the report came out in 2008, on the initiative of Vladimir Potanin, Chairman of the National Council on Corporate Governance. Leading Russian and foreign researchers and experts on corporate governance have contributed to this year’s edition. Olga Dergunova, Deputy Minister of the Economic Development of Russia and head of the Federal Agency for State Property Management, authored the foreword.
