Widespread, consistent with the spirit and the demand of time national theatre chain Cinema Park, which played exceptional role in the formation of current film distribution market and has became the №1 theatre chain in Russia, started to operate 10 years ago with the opening of its first movie theatre Cinema Park at Kaluzhskaya metro station.

The second 4DX superscreen was opened in Moscow on December 6. Multi-screen movie theatre Cinema Park Starlight in Filion mall on Bagrationovskaya had become one of the most technically advanced multiplexes in Russia with the state-of-art 4DX technology.

The biggest Russian national movie theatre chain Cinema Park and RealD company, the leading provider of 3D technology for movie halls, have signed a deal to install RealD 3D motion-picture projection system in chain's movie halls.

Interros has taken the decision to branch out its Cinema Park chain, previously part of the Profmedia holding company, into an independent business. Representatives from Profmedia and Interros are to sit on the Board of Directors which will take care of the strategic management of the company.

The biggest national cinema chain Cinema Park has announced today the acquisition of 100% of Rising Star Media shares (operates under the brand name Kinostar de Luxe) from UFG Private Equity, owned by Shari Redstone and Paul Heth. By the end of 2011 Rising Star Media will be fully integrated into the Cinema Park chain. The acquisition was financed by Interros shareholder Vladimir Potanin.
